The Judiciary News Agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran says that Saleh Mirhashemi, Majid Kazemi Sheikh Shabani and Saeed Yaqoubi were executed at dawn on Friday, May 19.
These three people were arrested, tried and sentenced to death in connection with the killing of two Basij soldiers and a special unit colonel on November 16 last year in the Negahbani square of “Khane Esfahan” neighborhood. An accusation that these three never accepted.
During the past days, the families of these three prisoners gathered several times in front of Dastgerd prison in Isfahan. They asked people not to leave them alone and to join their rally.
In a statement, Amnesty International called for “decisive action by the international community” to prevent the execution of these three protesters who were imprisoned and tortured by the Iranian regime.
