Human rights sources say that the sentence of 74 lashes of Naser Fahimi, a doctor and Sunni religious-political prisoner, was executed on Saturday, July 9, in Tehran’s Great Prison in Iran.
Last year, this Kurdish prisoner was sentenced to 6 months in prison and 74 lashes on the charge of “insulting the judicial authorities” in Branch 1051 of the Criminal Court of Tehran Justice Complex.
It is said that Nasser Fahimi, who is suffering from an illness, is struggling with a bad physical condition after the whipping sentence.
The implementation of inhuman sentences of flogging and execution in the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been severely criticized by international organizations and human rights activists.
